Centre for International Relations (CIR), Alagappa University explores opportunities for association with Overseas Universities and Institutes for Collaborative Ventures of mutual benefit. CIR extends its arms for building warm relationship with like-minded Overseas Institutions of Higher Learning. CIR also commits to evaluate Capability, Character and Candidness of Institutions before forging alliances. In addition to research collaborations, building MoU and inviting visiting Professors, the CIR assumes responsibility for exchanging Faculty and Students under Exchange programs to globalized learning and research.
CIR is responsible for admission of students under categories of Foreign Nationals, Non-Resident Indians, People of Indian Origin and Children of Indian workers in Gulf Countries for Post Graduate degree (M.A.,M.Com., M.Sc., MBA) and M.Phil. / Ph.D. programs in all disciplines. The essential qualification for enrolment is 10 + 2+ 3 years of education or its equivalent. The medium of Instruction is English.

Dr. C. Sekar has been serving as the Director of the Centre for International Relations since March 2016. He has received his Ph.D. degree in materials science from Anna University, Chennai in the year 1997 with specialization in the area of nanotechnology. He has served as Post Doctoral Researcher for three years (1997-2000) at NTT Corporation, Japan and as Guest Scientist in the Institute for Solid Sate and Materials Research (IFW)-Dresden, Germany for about 5 years (2000-2005). After serving as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physics and as Coordinator of the Centre for Nanoscience and Technology at Periyar University, Salem for about 5 years (2005-10), Dr. Sekar has joined Alagappa University as Professor and Head of the Department of Bioelectronics and Biosensors in March 2010 and continues his service till date. He had participated and delivered lectures in several international conferences in Japan, Canada, Germany, France, Italy, South Korea, The Netherlands, USA, Singapore and China. With this good exposure to the international institutions, Dr. Sekar is keen in building warm relationship with like-minded Overseas Institutions of Higher Learning and internationalisation of Alagappa University.
Dr. M. Karthikeyan serving as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Bioinformatics, Alagappa University, Karaikudi from August 2008. He pursued his M.Sc., and Ph.D. studies in Biomedical Genetics at Department of Genetics, University of Madras, Chennai. He worked as a Post doctoral Research Associate and Instructor at College of Pharmacy, Nova South-eastern University, Florida, USA in 2007. He also visited Singapore to attend Annual International Conference on Bioinformatics and Computational Biology in February, 2011. He has published research articles (60) in the peer reviewed reputed journals, presented 92 papers in International (27) and National (65) posters in several conferences and Symposiums. He has developed 2 databases; He has Edited 7 proceedings and organized 13 Seminars/workshops and Symposia. Further he has delivered several invited lectures. He is a member of several reputed scientific societies. He serving as a editorial board member and reviewer for several Scientific Journals. He was the recipient of several scientific awards like LTMT Junior Scholarship award, DRDO/DIPAS SRF. He has research collaborations with several foreign nations and he visited several countries.

Dr. M. Natarajan, has been serving as Assistant Director of the Centre for International Relations since 2017. He obtained his Ph. D degree in English Literature from Alagappa University, Karaikudi , Tmil Nadu in 2014. He joined as Assistant Professor in the Department of English and Foreign Languages, Alagappa University in August 2015. Besides, he is a Co- ordinator for Coaching Class for NET/SET examination under UGC Schemes, Member for DEEP Club( Developing English Eloquence Programme), and Department IQAC Member. He has participated and presented papers in International (17) and National(39) level seminars and conferences . He served as Organizing secretary and Organizing Committee member in several International and National conferences. Further, he delivered lectures in many colleges in connection with English Literary Association function. He delivered plenary talk and valedictory address in National seminars. He was a recipient of Best Faculty Award for his outstanding contribution to research by Indian Academic Research Association, Trichy, Tamil Nadu in 2016.
