Alagappa University

Alagappa University has been awarded A+ grade by NAAC (CGPA 3.64 out of 4) in the third cycle of assessment in 2017. It is the first State University in Tamil Nadu to receive A+ Grade. Alagappa University is one of the 32 Graded as Category-I University and Granted Autonomous by MHRD-UGC from among 864 Higher education institutions in India. The University is also ranked 27th out of 864 Universities Contested and 43 out of 1192 institutions in India in NIRF (National Institutional Ranking Frame Work) of MHRD in 2018.

Overview

This is a young, vibrant entity established during the academic year 2016-17 at Alagappa University. Logistics Management is getting professionalized of late, which is evident from the fact that this MBA (Logistics Management) programme is sanctioned to Alagappa University as an Innovative Programme with liberal funding by the University Grants Commission (UGC).

The faculty members of the DoLM are well qualified, industry-academia enriched, Nationally and Internationally experienced professionals. Infrastructure at the command of the department is envious: Video conferencing facility, Wi-Fi environment, Networked Computer Laboratory, well stocked Library, Conference halls are few notable features.

The DoLM offers industry focused MBA (LM), M.Phil (LM) and Ph.D. in Management - Specializing in Logistics Management.

INFRASTRUCTURE FACILITIES

The state-of-the-art facilities, and extremely proficient staff members, brands the DoLM a wonderful place to be, for those aspiring for a career in Logistics management

Class rooms

The classrooms are equipped with smart board, computers with internet and LCD projectors to facilitate teaching and learning. The academic events are supported efficiently through bulletin boards and debate forums.

Computer Centre

The computer centre having nearly 60 systems with 24x7 internet facility. The computer lab also has a dedicated System Programmer and help desk for competitive exam preparation such as Bank exams, Civil services exams & etc. Printing facility, Photocopying and scanning facilities are also available. The students of DoLM can also make use of Wi-Fi which is enabled throughout the campus with dedicate bandwidth for internet connectivity.

Library

The School of Management Library, which was recently established within the Faculty of Management campus to facilitate the readers an easy access to the latest collection of Books and Journals. This is in addition to the existing Central Library located in the Administrative campus. Around 20,000 plus books are available for the benefit of the students of Logistics Management at both these libraries. Internet service, CD-ROM Databases and e-services are provided by the library for its users. The department also subscribes to 30 plus national and international magazines.

CONFERENCE HALLS

Conference Halls with varied capacities – 800, 550, 300 ad 200 seats, built-in with full-fledged Digital Smart Board, Video Conferencing system, Projector, Electronic Podium, Public address system and LCD Projector are available for organizing seminars, guest lectures and meetings.
