I feel proud to be an alumnus of the Department of Library and Information Science, Alagappa University. I had the advantage of doing my Ph.D. at DLIS, Alagappa University. I am the first scholar to obtain Ph.D. from this department. The seminars and Workshops organized by the department gave me a real exposure towards my personality development. After a year of study, I became accustomed to life at Alagappa University and I very much appreciate my courses, the pace of life here, and the conveniences I got which I probably would not have got at other universities. I have learned much at Department of Library and Information Science, Alagappa University, not just academic subjects only but also about the cultures of other people. I have acquired skills in communicating and working with a diverse community. This experience has truly enriched my personality in many ways.

When I entered the university I never realized that this university would be the mentor of my life. I am happy and grateful that I had been given an opportunity to thank my alma mater. I chose to study at Alagappa University for varied reasons. First, I was impressed by LIS program of Alagappa University, curriculum and faculty. Dept of Library and Information Science, Alagappa University, offers a wide range of subjects which enhance students' quantitative and analytical skills. Similarly, the profile of the department's teaching staff is notable as the professors are experienced in their respective fields. Further, look at the university's website, convinced me of the beautiful scenery on the campus. The welcome environment for national and international students also made a good impression on me. Hence, I chose Alagappa University for my higher studies. The credit of my success in my career goes to this esteemed institution. I want to say that Alagappa University is the best university in nurturing higher education in India.

I am Amecha Godfrey Nyariki from Kenya and I graduated with a Master of Library and Information Science degree in 2012. I would like to take this gracious moment to thank Alagappa University fraternity for the conducive environment you created for my studies while in India. It's hard at times to adapt in a foreign land but in Karaikudi it was different since everybody was friendly and ready to assist me in all the services in I needed in the university. In the department of Library and Information Science I gained knowledge and experience that has helped me in my career. The good professors/lecturers in the department were motivating and well advanced in their area of specialization. With my classmates we worked in team as I value team work and unity to achieve in academic studies. I gained much technical skills in the central library and the whole process of information centers. As an alumnus, am grateful to the department for creating this forum to interact with all the students who have studied in the department and by this, stronger networks that will move us to the next level. Finally, I thank the Almighty God for enabling me to study in this esteemed University and especially the department of Library and Information Science.

I am really indebted to my Department Head and other faculty members for having given me placement opportunities to get placed in a leading corporate sector. The most unforgettable moments of my student days was the support provided by the university and department for extra-curricular activities viz to participate and to conduct cultural events. I spent useful time in the department computer lab and library. After two years of study at Alagappa University, I knew I made the right decision to come over here. If I had to choose again, I would still choose Alagappa University for its peaceful surroundings, quality education and national and international diversity.
