The Dean, Student affairs, responds to students' needs and plans programmes for campus activities. He frequently collaborates with different departments, stay up to date on relevant student resources and work directly with students. Further he plans and directs student to do University activities related to student services and campus life. He coordinates admissions, health services and social programs for students.

The duties of Dean, Student affairs includes supervising various campus programmes and serving as a liaison between administration and students. The duties also include encouraging academic success and monitoring students who are struggling in classes.

PG Orientation programme to all the fresher’s who are admitted during the current academic year was conducted from 5th – 6th July, 2016 and M.Phil Orientation programme on 24th August 2016.

Earn-while-you-learn scheme interview was conducted on 23rd August 2016 to give Part-Time Job opportunities to the students in the Department based on monthly income of the parents, UG percentage and interview mark. 40 students are selected under this scheme.

SardarVallabhai Patel Birth Anniversary Celebrations was conducted on 1st November 2016 in University Convocation seminar hall. Tamil and English Elocution, Essay writing and singing competition were conducted and prizes were distributed to the winners and runners of the competitions.

Youth Awakening day (Dr.A.P.J.AbdulKalam Birthday) was celebrated on 15th October 2016 at Convocation Seminar hall to motivate the young students to develop their career.

He is a member of Advisory Committee in conducting cultural competitions to University Department students ALUTES which was conducted from 3rd – 5th October 2016. He is also Advisory committee member in ALAGU AARAM 2017, cultural competitions to the affiliated colleges of Alagappa University conducted from 24th – 25th February 2017.

He is a member of Anti ragging squad for curbing ragging activities in the campus. Communication was sent to all the Head of the Departments to register in Anti Ragging Portal of UGC, New Delhi. 671 students from all the Departments registered online in the Anti-Ragging Portal of UGC.
